The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) supports the Integrated Games Transportation Plan to make sure all groups get where they need to go in a timely manner. Together with our partners, we're working to ensure business owners, residents and visitors can easily access their businesses, homes or hotels during Games time. There is a program in place to manage vehicles in areas near and adjacent to Games venues and in addition to security, this aims to decrease congestion and traffic in areas near Games venues.
To accommodate commuters to Whistler, additional service will be offered during Games time. BC Transit services will increase fivefold in Whistler and include frequent connecting services from Squamish and Pemberton to Whistler. Approximately every 5, 10 or 15 minutes during peak periods, commuters can take advantage of this frequent service and leave their cars at home to expedite travel times.
Games Time Souvenir passes go on sale December 1, 2009. These passes are fully transferrable and good for unlimited travel during the month of February 2010. Since regular WAVE passes do not apply during Fegbruary, twelve month pass holders will be given an additional month at no charge. Ticketed Spectators ride free on day of event until 4am. Kids five and under ride free.
In addition to a Games Express route on Highway 99, new Community Buses will be added to Nick North, Whistler Cay, Bayshores, Kadenwood, Nordic Estates, Gondola Way, Pinecrest and Black Tusk.

Phased-in Creekside parkade closures:
The municipality encourages all drivers to make plans for where they will park during February 2010. There will be no street parking seven days a week from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Additionally there will be no day skier parking lot availability and extremely limited parking throughout Whistler. This means that those drivers who do not have confirmed parking (either in their own laneway or a pre-paid spot in a commercial lot) will need to make arrangements for their vehicles during the day as no day lot parking will be available. Public transit will be the easiest way to get around Whistler and residents are encourages to plan ahead and know before they go.
