2010 Winter Games: Games Time Maps of Whistler

Since December 2008, the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games' (VANOC) Operations Engagement Team (OET) and its partners have been working with business and residents' associations, businesses and property management companies to share information and identify potential impacts that may result from the operation of the competition and non-competition venues in Metro Vancouver and the Sea to Sky corridor in 2010.

The Whistler Game Plan was presented to members of the community in the summer of 2009. It included information for residents, business owners and employers on what to expect in the late fall and winter for 2009. An additional community presentation will follow in November.

If travelling to Vancouver, TravelSmart by "knowing before you go" and preparing for "business as unusual" will be the key to a successful transportation experience at Games time. Walking and transit will be the fastest ways to get around during the Games. There will be an increase in traffic and additional parking restrictions throughout Vancouver and, in particular, in the areas adjacent to Games venues.
